What’s your dog’s name, breed (or mix), and age, and how did they join the family?
Ray is a (possibly) border collie / pitbull mix and is 2 years old. He was adopted from Yancey County Humane Society.
How did your dog get their name?
We originally named him Ramen, but then realized we were just hungry, so we shortened it to Ray.
Describe a typical office day for Ray.
Come in. Lay directly in front of the Engineering Lab door for hours. Wait until my human has a meeting, then decide it’s time to play and make weird wookie sounds!
Favorite office snack or treat?
French Fries.
What is the most ridiculous thing your dog does, at home, at the office, or when they meet someone new?
This is more ridiculously awesome, but he loves the water and he’s a really good swimmer. If I throw something in that sinks to the bottom, sometimes he’ll actually dive down and get it as long as it’s not too deep.
One thing every coworker should know about Ray before they visit.
Ray can be shy and may take some time to warm up to you, but eventually he will be your friend. Unless you’re a horse or an empty kitchen trash bag, in that case Ray will never be your friend, don’t even try.
